Christmas Holidays: What to Do During the Break

Christmas Holidays are approaching, and the English courses for children and teenagers will be suspended from December 23rd to January 6th.
Even during this break, it’s important to keep language practice alive in a fun and engaging way. Here are some activities you can suggest to your children and teens to continue improving their English during the holidays.

1. Background Listening: Keep the Habit
During regular lessons, daily listening is one of the most important tools for learning English. During the holidays, you can reduce the number of background listening sessions from twice a day to once, following the instructions from the reminder.
This will keep your listening comprehension active in a natural and relaxed way.

➡️ ⚠️ If listening sessions have been irregular in the last month, you can take advantage of this period to catch up.
It’s important to maintain consistent exposure to the language to improve fluency and understanding.

2. Games: Learn While Having Fun
Games are a fantastic way to learn without effort. This year, we’re offering a special activity to engage children and teens in learning English through a fun Christmas game.

3. Christmas Movies in English
Christmas holidays are a great time to watch Christmas-themed movies in English, perfect for improving comprehension and immersing yourself in the holiday spirit. Here are some suggestions for the whole family:

The Polar Express: a magical film that tells the adventure of a child heading to the North Pole.

‍♂️ Elf: a Christmas comedy that will entertain both adults and children.

Home Alone: a classic that combines laughter and adventure, perfect for the holidays.

☃️ The Grinch: the story of the grumpy Grinch and his attempt to ruin Christmas.

A Christmas Carol: an adaptation of Dickens’ classic, telling the story of Ebenezer Scrooge.

Watching these movies in English is a fun way to improve vocabulary and listening while enjoying the warmth of the holidays.

4. Reading in English
Reading is a great way to keep up with English during the holidays. Suggest books suited to the level of your children and teens, from illustrated stories for the little ones to novels for older kids. Teenagers can take advantage of their free time to read more complex books, expanding their vocabulary and diving into exciting stories.

Happy Holidays and enjoy learning English
